Our entire team has received extensive training in the Human Rehabilitation Framework (HRF) to promote recovery with a transdisciplinary approach. Leonard H. Van Gelder DPT, ATC, TPS, CSMT, CSCS
CEO, Co-Founder
Leonard Van Gelder is a clinician, coach, researcher, & educator. He is one of the co-founders of, and serves in leadership roles for, the Institute of Contextual Health.
He has been involved in the movement and rehabilitation field for over 20 years. During this time, he has studied, published research, and presented at regional and international conferences on the science of movement and pain. He has explored a diverse spectrum of manual therapy and movement approaches, and emphasizes a biopsychosocial approach to movement, manual therapy, and education in his practice.
Leonard had a previous career in information technology and has a previous history in martial arts including working stunt and action choreography. He enjoys spending time with his wife, occasional traveling, and creative outlets such as film/video production.
Cameron Faller, PT, DPT, CSCS
Clinic Director, Co-Founder
Dr. Cameron Faller is the Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of the Institute of Contextual Health (IOCH) and is considered a leading figure in the treatment of chronic pain and complex movement disorders.
With a decade of expertise in pain management and movement science, he actively leads initiatives that aim to advance innovative technologies, offer evidence-based educational programs, provide comprehensive rehab services, and conduct focused research.
Under his leadership, IOCH is redefining excellence by developing adaptable, effective solutions that recognize and cater to the unique needs of each individual. These efforts aim to significantly improve health outcomes and quality of life for individuals facing complex health issues.
Sarah Pipher
PT, DPT
Sarah is a physical therapist and yoga instructor.
Sarah has worked as a physical therapist for over 8 years, beginning with a strong focus in pediatric rehabilitation, and segued into the treatment of individuals of all ages with chronic pain. She completed a pediatric residency in 2014, has published research, and enjoys serving as an adjunct staff for GVSU’s PT program.
Sarah has a background in hockey and dance, and recently completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. She integrates yogic movement, breathing and mindfulness into her treatment of individuals with a variety of conditions, and enjoys continuously growing in this field through the guidance of several local and international teachers. She finds passion in helping people discover self-regulation of their nervous system, and exploring accessible movement to meet their own functional goals.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys her own yoga practice, boating, travel, all things food, and keeping up with her 3-year-old son.
Carissa Montague
OTD, OTR/L, Co-Founder
Carissa is an occupational therapist and certified Pilates instructor.
Carissa has worked in the wellness field for close to 20 years. She recently relocated to Grand Rapids from Chicago where her experience as a Pilates Instructor and professional dancer fueled her interest in working with movement and pain and led her to obtaining a clinical doctorate in occupational therapy.
As an occupational therapist, she is committed to individualized care that puts the client front and center. Carissa values a supportive and multidisciplinary approach, partnering with clients so they can engage in the daily activities they need and want to do. Her treatment background includes experience with chronic migraine and other headache conditions and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
In her free time, Carissa is usually in middle of few different books, and enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family.
Megan Dickerson
OTR/L
Megan is an occupational therapist.
Megan has worked as an occupational therapist for over 8 years and has had the opportunity to serve in all healthcare settings throughout her career (inpatient, skilled nursing, homecare, outpatient, and acute care). This has offered exposure to a variety of diagnoses across the span of a lifetime and offers an understanding of the patient perspective in each of these situations. Navigating life situations with neurological clients has been her most beloved work. Megan dedicates her time focusing on how to achieve a better lifestyle utilizing the unique goals of each individual client.
Megan has a background in basketball and running, and continues to enjoy moving her body while water and snow skiing, hiking, and trying to keep up with her 3 kids. Traveling to experience new cultures, food, and environments is another activity she enjoys alongside her husband.

Justin Borman
PTA
Justin is a Physical Therapist Assistant.
Justin has worked in the physical therapy field in a variety of roles for over 3 years. He has enjoyed working with people of all ages with diverse backgrounds and conditions. With a educational background in psychology, he enjoys helping people discover new tools that help them move toward their own goals and values.
Justin enjoys joining patients in the discovery of finding new options of movement and thinking that promote well-being, helping uncover the joy for living that is often complicated through pain and dysfunction.
In his free time, Justin enjoys spending time with his loved-ones, being in nature, and playing piano.
Elizabeth Hilson
COTA
Elizabeth is a Licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with a background in TBI, Neuro/Stroke, Ortho Spine, Geriatric, ICU, and Respiratory.
She has worked in Sub-Acute Rehab, Acute Rehab, and Acute Care and now feels incredibly blessed to be a part of this amazing team!
She has been working in Occupational Therapy for 14 years. Her greatest focus in Occupational Therapy is Person-First. Body – Mind – and Soul. And her greatest passion is being able to help others…to be a light in difficult times.
She loves being able to meet people where they’re at and bring hope (and education) for a more positive future.

Office Manager
Stacey has worked in a number of roles ranging from customer service, book keeping, to insurance billing over her career. She shows tremendous care for the operation of the office and the quality of patient care.
Stacey and her husband have 5 adult children and 4 grand children who they love spending time with.
Sydni Willcock
Customer Service Representative
Sydni has worked a number of different customer service positions, many with a focus in technology. She is passionate about LGBTQ+ rights, mental health awareness, and helping people find solutions to their problems.
Outside of work, Sydni likes to spend time with her family, make baked goods for her coworkers, and travel around the country with her
friends.
