We Believe You is an ongoing campaign centered on trust, listening, and support. For too many people, especially those navigating chronic pain, trauma, or health uncertainty, the experience of being dismissed or unheard can deepen suffering.
At IOCH, belief is where care begins.

“Hi, my name is Carmen. As a human being (I do not use the term ‘patient’ anymore) who receives support and services at IOCH, this place evolves traditional person-centered healthcare into the Human Rehabilitation Framework model. The Human Rehabilitation Framework is an advanced version of the biopsychosocial model and it adapts according to clients’ needs.
Through my ongoing time here, I have learned skills to increase my capacity and psychological flexibility. Before IOCH, I felt trapped in a cycle of receiving diagnoses, trying to cope but ultimately falling into hopelessness. Despite past and current diagnoses and challenges, I am treated with respect and understanding that my story matters. This starts when I walk through the front door and it is ongoing with all the staff here.
My life, along with the symptoms which brought me to IOCH about a year ago, is so much more manageable and enjoyable. Thank you IOCH for the gift of a life with hope and promise no matter what comes my way.”
