Celebrating One Year of Growth, Transformation, and Community Impact

It’s been a year since our community rallied to keep DMR Move’s doors open, and today, we’re thrilled to share that your support has had an even bigger impact than we expected. Not only did your help stabilize and grow DMR Move, but it also led to the restructuring of the business to form the Institute of Contextual Health (IOCH), a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Since its creation, IOCH has enabled us to reimagine our mission, expand our reach, and honor DMR’s legacy grounded in transparency, innovation, and giving back.

How Your Support Inspired the Creation of IOCH

After recovering from our billing crisis in October 2023, caused by multiple negligent 3rd party vendors, we took a deep look at our values and goals. This reflection led us to unify DMR Move/Recover, Dynamic Principles, and IMDV into a single mission-driven organization, now known as the Institute of Contextual Health (IOCH). The original founder of these organizations, Leonard Van Gelder partnered with Cameron Faller, Carissa Montague, and Justin Borman to strategically reimagine an organization that builds on the strengths and values of Leonard’s original vision. This transformation was not an external acquisition but a deliberate, mission-focused reinvention and evolution from within, aimed at serving our community with greater impact and transparency.

Adopting a Unique Mission to Grow with Purpose

At IOCH, our top priority is to meet our clients where they are in life, and to adapt quickly to their needs. We are dedicated to promoting real, effective changes that address the complexities of life and we’re committed to finding solutions that are effective for our clients and scalable for all.

This past year, the generosity of our supporters enabled us to expand our reach and achieve the following milestones:

  • Expanded Access: Your support allowed us to serve an additional 1,000 clients facing complex health challenges, adding to the 2,500+ individuals previously helped through DMR Move.
  • Improved Financial Stability: Bringing billing in-house improved cash flow, increased efficiency, and allowed us to allocate more resources to client care.
  • Building a Custom EMR System: We developed a new electronic medical records system tailored to the needs of our clients and staff, supporting our current healthcare practices and laying the groundwork for future innovations.
  • Preliminary Development of Wearable Technology: With your support, we initiated the development of wearable technology designed to track individualized movement quality. This innovation will allow us to monitor movement patterns in real time, offering personalized insights that enhance our clients’ care and inform our broader research into movement and health.

Where we’re Headed: Leading a New Era in Healthcare

Looking forward, IOCH is pursuing ambitious goals to reshape healthcare:

  • Transparent, Rigorous Research: We’re committed to open research, continuously refining our methods to ensure we deliver the most effective care possible.
  • Advanced Client Portals: We aim to integrate comprehensive health data, from biomarkers to social and mental health metrics to empower clients to track and influence their health journeys.
  • Revolutionizing Client and Clinician Interactions: Our vision includes new ways for clients and clinicians to connect, with social networks designed to foster support, collaboration, and community.
  • Supporting Health Across Life Stages: Expanding our approach to care to support clients across all life stages and health challenges, creating an interconnected health, wellness, and performance ecosystem.
  • Understanding Health at Every Level: Our research plans will delve into understanding, predicting, and positively influencing health, wellness, and performance across diverse populations.

As we celebrate this incredible year of growth, transformation, and impact, we are deeply grateful for the support that has made it all possible. The work we’ve accomplished and the ambitious goals we’ve set for the future are a testament to the power of collective action and shared vision.

Our journey is just beginning, and with your continued support, we look forward to expanding our mission, reaching more people, and pioneering a new era of healthcare. Thank you for believing in us and for being an essential part of this journey toward a healthier, more compassionate world.
