Understanding the Impact of Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs)

March is Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Awareness Month, dedicated to raising awareness and providing support to those affected by TBI.

According to the CDC, TBI is a leading cause of disability and death and disability in children and adults, with approximately 2.8 million TBI-related emergency department visits, hospitalizations, and deaths in the US each year. People often experience multiple symptoms including but not limited to: decreased concentration and attention span, reduced thinking speed, increased forgetfulness, sensory sensitivities, lost sense of self, increased depression and anxiety, and increased irritability.

Managing a TBI requires a personalized approach as every TBI is unique and requires tailored treatments to address the individual’s specific symptoms and needs.

Since March was TBI Awareness Month, we decided to create a simple guide that is useful to share with friends and family.

Feel free to check out this guide below!
